The reason it all began

I would love to raise £10,000 for each of the two charities mentioned below. It’s just numbers isn’t it? For example, I have 1000 facebook friends and they, between them, have many more than 1000 friends. Let’s say 1 of my friends and 1 of theirs each donates £10. That’s it. £20,000. Just numbers 😉 Footnote: In the end I raised £7500 in total which I was very happy with. Thank You All for your Support xxx

Sponsorship will be via Just Giving. More details to follow soon. Stainsby Festival is a well-established, intimate and family friendly event in a beautiful rural setting, held in large marquees on a greenfield site in the picturesque hamlet of Stainsby, Derbyshire. Stainsby supports music in community in so many ways and is the first place I facilitated a community drum circle…many generations of music flow through the veins of this place and now there is a chance to buy the land and hold the festival in perpetuity…that’ what I want to give them £10,000 for.

It’s a registered charity and a not-for-profit event run entirely by unpaid volunteers, not some faceless corporate organisation. Stainsby is all about live music: hearing, playing, writing, performing, learning. It’s also all about commuity and leaving a legacy. All proceeds go back into the event. Period. Stainsby has everything: great folk and world music in traditional marquees, crafts stalls, childrens entertainment, music workshops of every kind, storytelling, a singers competition and walkabout events throughout the weekend with camping thrown in. You can chill out by day with superb views across Stainsby Pond to Hardwick Hall. You can live it up by night when the festival runs firelight sessions late into the night. What more could you want? A field of Dreams perhaps?

Stainsby Dream Of Fields Appeal

Help us secure our future. Every penny donated is being put into a separate account. If we reach the total needed, we’ll buy the field – simple as that. If we fail however, and you’d then like your donation back, this will be catered for.

Wiston Lodge is a charity based in Scotland where I have been volunteering since July 2014. I have know Wiston since 2006 when it became the venue for The UK Playshop’s International drum circle facilitator training programme with Arthur Hull. There is a real desire here to develop the use of Music and Arts for the PSED curriculum and within the local rural community. I want to help raise £10,000 in funds for the Creative Arts wing of Wiston, Tinto Music and Arts to develop the use of Music and Arts across the board to help establish an annual Festival of  Music and Arts to be held here in the
